What is AFYAC?

AFYAC offers a NEW choice of summer fun and experience for students in Boise, the Treasure Valley, and the Northwest. Each morning and afternoon our AFYAC Adventure Van will pick up and drop off all AFYAC campers.  We also end each day-camp week with an Aloha Friday BBQ!

Who is AFYAC for? 

Campers ages 7-12: Options include five week-long day camps (M-F, 8am-4pm). Come to one week or join us for all five!

Individuals 13-17 : Options include three 4 day/3 night backpacking adventures in the Idaho wilderness (M-TH). Plus a 3 day/2 night Bonus Labor Day Weekend Trip!

The design of AFYAC includes experience, memories, and convenience.  The 2011 AFYAC Summer Program will begin on Monday, June 13, 2011 and run through Friday, August 12th with a bonus Labor Day adventure (September 3-5)Safety is the number one priority of AFYAC.  Campers will at all times be led by two experienced outdoor educators keeping our camper to teacher ratio at 1:3-1:6.

This year’s program features five week-long day camps for students ages 7-12 and four overnight backpacking adventures for students ages 13-17.  Descriptions of all camp choices can be found here.  Hurry and register today!  Financial Assistance is available and information can be found here.  Space is limited to twelve day campers per week and ten overnight campers per adventure.  A minimum of six campers will be required to proceed with any camp.  All notification on camp cancellations and refunds will be done ahead of time and in a timely manner.

All day-campers that live within the city limits of Boise, ID will be picked up and dropped off at their residence by the AFYAC Adventure Van each morning and afternoon!  For those long-distance campers (outside Boise city limits) after camp registration please contact Camp Director Chad Randol at afyac@ymail.com to make arrangements for pick up and drop off.  For all day camps pick-up will start at 8:00am and drop off will begin at 3:00pm. (Primary camp hours will run daily M-F from 8am-4pm).

To expedite departure on the overnight expeditions the team will meet at a designated location convenient to all participants.  Upon returning from our journeys deep in the Idaho wilderness the AFYAC Van will gladly drop all campers off at their residence in Boise, ID.  Again, for those that live outside of the city alternative arrangements will be made. Registration confirmation will be done via e-mail.  Upon confirmation of camp registration each camper will receive a Welcome to Camp Letter and Supply List!  The supply list for day camps will consist of the basics like water, backpack, sunscreen, lunch, snack, good walking shoes, towel, and water clothes including shoes and a hat.
